About

Born in Hong Kong, 2001, and now residing in the Netherlands. Dylan Chan is a sculptor and performance artist working with routine objects. He follows the uncertainties in design concepts to their roots, where the boundaries between objects blur, giving space for them to reconnect naturally. These new connections, via their affordances, functions, and the manual-imposed relationship to the body and mind, separate the materials from their previous narrative in human life, taking on their post-anthropocentric forms to exist on their own. Chan's performance creates an everyday where objects no longer "serve" with their functions and invites the human to become a part of its routine.
